Payment Policies: Discounts
Standard 15% commission is paid to advertising agencies recognized by SAF. Commission discounts applies to space, color and special position charges.

New Accounts
New advertisers must pre-pay for their first ad. After first ad, credit terms are available once approved credit application is submitted.

Materials and Storage
Any materials received after the materials deadline date or date approved by production manager are subject to a 10% late charge. Proofs, film and other printing and production materials will be stored by publisher for 12 months and then destroyed, unless otherwise advised in writing by advertiser or agency. Advertiser will be billed at cost to have ad pulled out of storage and sent to another publication.

Cancellation Dates
Cancellation of space order not accepted after closing date. No exceptions.

Short Rates and Rebates
Advertisers who cancel a contract prior to completion will be short-rated (re-billed at the higher frequency amount) upon notification of cancellation.

Terms
Net 30 days. 1% interest applied to invoices paid after 30 days.

Inserts
Prices available upon request. Sample of furnished insert must be provided in advance to ensure machinability and compliance with USPS regulations.

There is a 15% discount if camera-ready materials are supplied.

Printing Specifications

·         Printing web offset. Saddle stitched. 60# Gloss Stock.

·         Materials accepted: Black and white negatives: 133-line screen.
Four color screens: 133-line. Negative requirements are one-piece, right-reading, emulsion side down. Camera-ready art also accepted (agency will be charged for camera and other expenses).

·         Four-color density in any area may not exceed 300%.

·         All four-color materials must be accompanied by a color proof.
Chromalins and match prints are accepted proofing material. Standard AAAA/MPA process inks are to be used.

·         Ads on disk accepted.

Film: To convert film to digital format the advertiser will be billed at cost ($31).
Black and white or color negatives: 133-line screen. One-piece, right-reading, emulsion side down. Four-color density in any area may not exceed 300%.

All four-color materials (including electronic files) must be accompanied by a chromalin or match print color proof. Laser prints, color copies or rainbow prints are not acceptable substitutes. Advertisers/ agency will be billed at cost for proofs made by printer.

Electronic Files

·         Chromalin or match print color proof must accompany electronic version of four-color ad. Laser prints, color copies or rainbow prints are not acceptable substitutes. Advertisers/agency will be billed at cost for proofs made by printer. Without a proof, neither press nor publisher can be held responsible for correct color, images shift and image dropout.

·         Four-color images must be converted from RGB to CMYK.

·         Formats accepted: Encapsulated Postscript (EPS) files and TIF files in Adobe Illustrator or QuarkXPRess. No JPEG files. Native QuarkXPress or native Adobe Illustrator accepted.

·         Portable Document Format (PDF): File must be saved as Press Setting (minimum 300 DPI). All printer, screen fonts and images must be imbedded in the file. All 4C images must be in CYMK mode - no RGB or Index color.

·         Mac-format 3/5" floppy disk, zip and jaz cartridges and CD-Rom accepted.

·         Include Postscript fonts, screen fonts, original or scanned art, and imported graphics.

Please label disks with client name, Floral Management and the issue date.

Reader Service
Advertisers not wishing to service inquiries produced through the publication's reader service cards are obliged to have their advertising agency identify on insertion orders and/or contracts those advertisements that are not to carry a reader service card number.
